
Ki Wing Wah
Dr. KI Wing Wah is a former Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education, the University of Hong Kong, a founding member of the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER), former Deputy Director of the Teacher Support Centre for Mother Tongue Education, and a leading member of the Dragonwise Research Group. His teaching and research areas include theories of teaching and learning, phenomenography and cross-cultural understanding, computer science education, information technology in education, language teaching and technology application, online networks and teacher development, and the psychology of mathematical problem solving. He previously served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong Cyber Campus, Deputy Director of the Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) at the University of Hong Kong, and Deputy Director of the Teacher Network for English Language Education (TeleNex). His co-edited publications include Variation Theory and the Learning Space (《變易理論與學習空間》), Analysis of Good Practices of IT Application in Teaching (《教學上應用資訊科技優秀案例剖析》), Changing Classrooms and Changing Schools: a Study of Good Practices in Using ICT in Hong Kong Schools, Chinese Language Learning and Teaching of Non-Chinese Speaking Students (《非華語學生的中文學與教》), and Research on Chinese Language Learning Among Ethnic Minority Students in Hong Kong (《香港少數族裔學生學習中文的研究》). Furthermore, the Dragonwise series software developed under his leadership includes reading comprehension training systems (閱讀理解訓練系統), the Joyful learning Chinese character website (漢字學習系統 “樂在詞中”詞語學習網站), the second-generation Dragonwise Chinese Language Learning School Assistance Website (第二代現龍漢字學習學校協助網站), Chinese character learning software packages for South Asian students (南亞裔學生漢字學習軟件套), and online resources for the Chinese language learning support project for non-Chinese speaking students (非華語學生中文學習支援計劃網上資源) etc.
