Professor Kevin W. H. Tai (戴維軒教授) is Assistant Professor of Language and Literacy Education and Co-Director of the Centre for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education at the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Additionally, he is Honorary Research Fellow at IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society in University College London (UCL). Professor Tai was awarded the RGC Early Career Award (ECA) in 2023/24 from the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong, the University Research Output Prize, the Faculty Outstanding Young Researcher Award and the Faculty Early Career Research Output Award from The University of Hong Kong for recognising his excellent achievements in research. Professor Kevin Tai was named among the World's Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists in the field of Languages and Linguistics by Stanford University in both 2024 and 2025. With a subfield rank of 130 out of 23,460 scholars worldwide, he is ranked within the Top 1% in the field of Languages and Linguistics in 2025. Notably, Professor Tai holds the distinction of being the youngest scholar to achieve this ranking in the field of Linguistics in 2024 and in 2025. His outstanding contribution in research has been further honoured him as the World's Top 1% Scholar by Clarivate Analytics in 2025 and HKU Scholar in the Top 1%. Professor Tai was also named as a Highly Ranked Scholar in the specialty of English Language by ScholarGPS.
