
顏妙如
Dr. YEN, Miao-ju Louisa (顏妙如) is a Senior Lecturer within the Academic Unit of Language and Literacy Education at the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). An accomplished scholar in language education, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from National Chengchi University (BA, NCCU), a Master of Arts from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (MA, CUHK), and a Doctor of Education from The University of Hong Kong (EdD, HKU). Dr. Yen is an active researcher affiliated with the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) at HKU. Her primary research and teaching interests focus on international education, innovative pedagogies, teaching Chinese as a second language, concept-based curriculum design, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and philosophy. Empirically driving teacher training forward, she has jointly led initiatives such as video-based professional development programs centered on Academic Productive Talk (APT) strategies to enhance the classroom-talk competency of pre-service teachers. Her doctoral research deeply explored the impact of Chinese teachers' cultural beliefs regarding student engagement on their pedagogical practices.
